Lynch will run for Seahawks in 2012



INDIANAPOLIS – One way or another, Marshawn Lynch will remain with the Seahawks for at least the 2012 season.

That was the word from John Schneider today, when the Seahawks’ general manager field questions for almost 45 minutes at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Lynch is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next month. But at the podium, Schneider was asked if Lynch was a candidate to be tagged if a contract agreement could not be reached. “Sure,” he said.

Schneider said the club has had “great discussions” with the team’s leading rusher and his agent since mid-December and the sides are scheduled to talk again here this evening.

Both sides prefer a multiyear deal. But if agreement on a contract cannot be reached by the March 6 deadline to designate franchise players, Schneider said the club will tag Lynch.

After his stint at the podium, Schneider was asked if Lynch would remain a Seahawk for the coming season – one way or the other. “Yeah,” he said.

Alabama RB Trent Richardson earned a passing medical grade at the Combine following a Feb. 3 knee scope.
Dr. James Andrews called the procedure "about as minor and routine as you can get." Richardson's agent said the top running back prospect would have been playing within 10-to-14 days had the scope been done during the season. Richardson had a small tear in the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus, but there was no damage to the cartilage. Although he won't participate in combine drills, Richardson will hold his Pro Day on March 27.

Osweiler joins QB list not throwing at Combine
Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler is joining Stanford's Andrew Luck, Baylor's Robert Griffin III and Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill as quarterbacks who will not be throwing in front of scouts at the 2012 Combine.

The foursome make up the top quarterback prospects on NFLDraftScout.com's board, leaving a rather ho-hum group of passers left to throw to receivers during Sunday's throwng session.

The NFL can't be thrilled with the fact that arguably the four most intriguing quarterback talents in the draft will not be throwing on the first day the league is opening up the Combine to fans.

The shorter-than-expected Osweiler told me Friday as he was walking out of Lucas Oil Stadium that he would not be throwing. He did not provide a reason and unfortunately, I was unable to ask further questions due to a pre-scheduled radio commitment.

Osweiler surprised many with his decision to leave Arizona State after only one starting season. He was very impressive in 2011, however, setting the ASU record by completing 63.2% of his passes for 4,036 yards -- another school record. Osweiler threw twice as many touchdowns (26) and interceptions (13) in 2011 and though he left ASU following the team's bowl loss to Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl, he had a strong game personally, completing 30 of 47 passes for a career-high 397 yards and two touchdowns against one interception.

Arizona State's Pro Day is currently scheduled for March 24.

Georgia’s Cordy Glenn weighed in as one of the largest offensive line prospects at the Combine, tipping the scale at 345 pounds. And after his 40-yard dash, he might also be considered one of the most athletic. Glenn ran an unofficial 4.96 in his first 40-yard dash attempt Saturday morning, including a 1.76 yard 10-yard split.

Glenn is expected to participate in every drill this week, already lifting 31 times on the bench, an impressive feat for a player with 36” arms. He played most of his collegiate career inside at guard before moving out to left tackle as a senior in 2011. Scouts question whether or not he can protect the blindside at the next level, but Glenn helped answer some of those concerns with a positive week at the Senior Bowl. If he performs well athletically in drills this week, showing NFL scouts he can play outside in the NFL, Glenn’s draft stock could jump into the top-20 discussion.

Sinon pour en revenir à Kalil (306 lbs), au delà de son très bon temps par rapport à son gabarit (4"99) au 40 yds et 7"33 au 3 cone drill, j'ai trouvé hier qu'il ne faisait pas du tout gros, comme certains autres tackles ou guard, aussi bien visuellement que lorsqu'il courait ou faisait l'atelier technique. On voit qu'il est très solide sur ses jambes, qu'il a un bon équilibre et qu'il ne lutte pas pour déplacer tout son poids. Ils ont remontrés des temps forts de certaines actions à USC, et là encore impressionné, même si je l'avais déjà vu jouer plusieurs fois cette saison. L'équipe qui va le prendre (les Rams, qui ne voudront pas trop "trade down" pour s'assurer sa présence ?) va vraiment faire une superbe affaire pour protéger son QB.

Oui, apparemment Minnesota serait chaud bouillant sur lui. De toute façon, je les vois pas descendre en dessous de la 4ème place - sauf énorme deal avec une équipe placée plus bas genre les Redskins - pour pouvoir choper Blackmon et constituer un bon petit duo avec Bradford. En plus ça serait tout bénéf' pour eux parce que ça parle du fait que Cleveland lâcherait ses 2 picks du 1er tour.

Cleveland devrait lâcher sn 2nd round aussi.
Les Redskins peuvent donner encore plus a mon avis,dans ce cas les Rams ne pourront refuser les offres proposées.
Après ils peuvent toujours prendre Reiff,Blackmon...
