Eagles excuse Riley Cooper from all team activities
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick says he can play with Riley Cooper. For now, he won't have to.
Two days after Cooper was fined for his racially insensitive comment made at a Kenny Chesney concert, the Eagles pass-catcher on Friday decided to step away from the team.
"Right now, I think it's important for me to take some time to reflect on this situation," Cooper said in a statement released by the team. "The organization and my teammates have been extremely supportive, but I also realize that there are people who will have a tough time forgiving me for what I've done. The best thing for me, and for the team, is to step away for a period of time.
The Eagles provided a statement of their own:
"As we have said, Riley Cooper will be seeking counseling and we have excused him from all team activities. This is all new territory and we are going to evaluate this timetable every step of the way. He will meet with professionals provided by the Eagles during this period of time to better help him understand how his words have hurt so many, including his teammates."
Ian Rapoport told NFL Network that Cooper remains on the active roster, saying, "He's basically away for an excused absence, so at this point the Eagles will not be able to replace him."
Said Rapoport: "The media firestorm will die down a little bit and allow them to make the reasoned decision the Eagles usually make. What this decision comes down to is whether the off the field annoyance, essentially, is worth it for what Riley Cooper will bring on the field if Jeremy (Maclin) was were healthy.
"What I'm being told is that it's likely Riley Cooper would be cut, instead now it's a little bit more difficult of a decision just because the Eagles have so little at receiver. So what they're going to do now is basically just think about their options and do so while Riley Cooper, hopefully for him, gets himself a little better and understands what he did and what he said."
Chalk it up as a sound move by Cooper and the Eagles. He's clearly apologetic, but Cooper's outburst has generated debate that extends far beyond the boundaries of sport.
Inside the locker room, the threat of a divide lingers. While Vick told reporters he could accept Cooper as a teammate, running back LeSean McCoy described learning of his teammate's comment as "losing a friend," saying, "I can't respect a guy like that."
Hall of Fame receiver Sterling Sharpe told NFL Network on Friday that a simple apology from Cooper doesn't cut it, saying: "It would be hard for me to be a teammate of Riley Cooper."
NFL Network's Darren Sharper agreed, saying Thursday: "I'm disgusted and appalled. I couldn't play with a guy like that. The thing about it is ... the context in which he said it was demeaning and degrading, so his apology wouldn't really not mean much to me. I guy like that, I know his true colors now, a guy I cannot trust -- similar to what LeSean McCoy said -- and I wouldn't want to have him in my locker room, because the locker room is so tight, you don't want to have bad team chemistry."

Strong training camps are becoming a trend for Philadelphia Eagles second-year running back Chris Polk. The University of Washington product put together a nice string of practices during last year’s training camp, which translated into a roster spot. However, as impressive as he looked on the practice fields of Lehigh University and in preseason games, Polk failed to register a carry in 2012.
New year, same results for Polk. After piecing three very solid practices together, Polk is now running with the second-team offense during practice at the Novacare Complex. The 5-foot-11, 222-pound Polk supplanted fellow NFL sophomore Bryce Brown from those snaps. However, as is the case with any position battle on this team, it’s worth a reminder that head coach Chip Kelly has repeatedly stated that he is operating without a depth chart at this point. That doesn’t mean the first-year head coach isn’t impressed. “I think in the last couple of days you’ve really seen Chris show up,” Kelly said after Wednesday’s practice. ” He had a great practice when we were in the stadium. Hit a couple of nice runs today.”
“Really truly understands the blocking scheme, so he’s patient in terms of understanding — letting the blocks develop. But when he sees them, then sticking his foot in the ground and taking off. I think the last couple of days he’s really come across. I did see him in college. He was a workhorse for Washington. He was really the guy you had to stop. But he has versatility and can catch a ball coming out of the backfield. I think he’s not just a one‑dimensional guy either.”
Given his versatility, and Kelly’s familiarity from his Pac-12 days, Polk appears to have the inside track at a roster spot and potentially even the team’s second-running back position. If nothing else, this is certainly another intriguing position battle to watch at Camp Kelly.

Perso j'peux matter là
Perso ça n'a pas marché, j'ai envoyé un ticket, les mecs ont mis 10 ans pour me répondre que certaines banques bloquaient les renouvellement automatiques et que deux autres tentatives auraient lieu le 5 et le 8 de mémoire. Je leur ai demandé ensuite si je pouvais pas payer manuellement au tarif de l'année dernière. Aucune réponse...

Putain, ils me cassent les couilles NFL.com. Autant, l'assistance d'ESPN est vraiment excellente autant celle de la NFL est vraiment merdique, ils répondent jamais aux tickets. Là j'essaie de les contacter via leur chat, et c'est la même merde.

Match de pré-Saison 1 : Seattle 31 - 10 San Diego
Quelques observations en vrac :
- OL complètement catastrophique en début de match lorsque Russell jouait. Elle était un mix entre titulaires et remplaçants. Incapable de protéger R.ussell correctement, qui a passé la majeure partie de son temps à gérer la pression mise sur lui. Pas grand chose à retirer de sa performance à part sa toute première passe du match d'une 20aine de yards, et sa course de 10 yds où il arrive à échapper à la pression.
- Brady Quinn plutôt pas mal sur les 2 et quasi 3ème QT entier.
- J'ai vu Tarvaris (2TD au total) faire une 2 passes longues
Dont 1 TD et 1 qui met en super position pour le TD de Ware derrière. Il a plutôt bien géré, mais bon en face c'était pas les titulaires. Je pense qu'il a gagné des points face à Quinn pour le poste de QB2.
- Front 4 nul face à la course en première partie du match. Ryan Matthews s'amusait à gagner ses 5/6 yds à chaque course en plein centre.
- Le RB #34 Whittaker des Chargers m'a fait une bonne impression. Suffit que j'écrive ça pour qu'il sorte sur blessure :vita:
- Christine Michael m'a fait bonne impression. Je l'ai trouvé assez agile, deux beaux spin moves, et surtout une volonté constante d'aller chercher l'extra yard, de rester sur ses jambes. L'impression qu'il est plus rapide à se mettre en exécution que réellement rapide. Il a eu pas mal de boulot tout le long du match. Il est actuellement derrière Turbin, mais ça devrait changer assez rapidement je pense.
- Jésus qui jouait face à nous s'est fait intercepter 2 fois (#42 Maxwell et Thurmond III de souvenir), sacké 3 fois. Soirée compliquée pour lui.
- Pas mal de fautes en début de match, surtout côté Seattle. J'ai trouvé les arbitres assez sévères d'ailleurs.
- Kearse (UW BABY !) a eu le droit à son TD au 2 QT.
- On a essayé pas mal de punt returner et de kick returner différents, et globalement ils ont fait du bon boulot.
- Sherman n'a rien eu à faire, Rivers osait pas lancer dans sa direction
- Pas constaté de blessure particulière de notre côté. Côté San Diego, j'ai vu que Whittaker.

- Pas mal de fautes en début de match, surtout côté Seattle. J'ai trouvé les arbitres assez sévères d'ailleurs.
- Kearse (UW BABY !) a eu le droit à son TD au 2 QT.
- On a essayé pas mal de punt returner et de kick returner différents, et globalement ils ont fait du bon boulot.
- Sherman n'a rien eu à faire, Rivers osait pas lancer dans sa direction
- Pas constaté de blessure particulière de notre côté. Côté San Diego, j'ai vu que Whittaker.

J'ai vu la 1e mi-temps c'était vraiment violent comme on se faisait traverser à chaque fois
J'aimerais bien mettre ça sur le compte d'un nouveau système et sur le fait qu'il s'agissait des remplaçants, mais vu que c'est un problème récurrent depuis quelques années... ça pue !
En revanche offensivement c'est bien sympa à voir Chip Kelly, et si le tueur de chiens retrouve un peu de jambes ça devrait être spectaculaire.
